INEPE is a school serving the barrios of south Quito. It’s founders hold the ideal that educating children with the participation of the community contributes to a world in which all live with happiness and in harmony with the planet and the universe.

INEPE provides education based on the principals of Paolo Freire, honoring the whole child, valuing cultural diversity and supporting spiritual development. In addition to offering a high-quality pre-K-12 education, the school serves and is served by all generations of the community. In addition to academics, classes are provided in aikido, yoga, cultivation of a large organic garden, community health, music, art and Quechua and English languages. Caring for the environment is part of daily life, with reforestation projects, gardens, and greenhouses providing food for the community. You are invited to visit the site and find out more about the school.
